Server Virtualization

Virtualization

Deliver dynamic resources with nearly unlimited capacity and “anywhere, anytime” availability. Dramatically simplify your IT infrastructure and reduce your cost of ownership, while improving efficiency. Let Allin Consulting introduce Virtualization to your organization.

What is Virtualization?

  • Server Virtualization - isolates hardware resources from an OS, so that multiple copies of the OS can run on a single server, each believing it has exclusive access to the underlying hardware.
  • Storage Virtualization - consolidates physical storage from multiple network storage devices to appear as a single storage unit.
  • Network Virtualization - combines network resources in a pool assigning channels in real time to a particular server or device.
  • Desktop Virtualization - moves applications from the desktop to a central server farm.

Server Virtualization

Server Virtualization enables multiple operating systems to run simultaneously on a single hardware server, consolidating multiple applications on a single operating system instance. Server Virtualization uses software to create a Virtual Machine (VM) that emulates a physical computer by creating a separate OS environment logically isolated from the host server. By providing multiple VMs at once, several operating systems can run simultaneously on a single physical machine.

If you have under-utilized servers, each dedicated to a specific workload, let CodeLab consolidate the workloads onto a smaller number of more fully-used servers.

Storage Virtualization

Management of storage devices can be tedious and time-intensive. Storage virtualization allows storage administrators to more quickly and easily perform typically time-consuming tasks, such as system backup, archiving, and recovery, from a central console.

Virtualization of storage achieves true location independence by abstracting the physical location of the data. Pooling the physical storage from multiple network storage devices into what appears to be a single storage device, Storage Virtualization benefits include:

  • Improved utilization of storage space – lowering hardware acquisition costs
  • Fewer points of management - increasing productivity
  • Non-disruptive data migration – maintaining data integrity and security

Let CodeLab help you to navigate the management, infrastructure design and software complexities associated with storage virtualization.

Network Virtualization

Optimize network speed, reliability, flexibility, scalability, and security. Combine hardware and software network resources and network functionality into a single, software-based administrative entity in a virtual network. By performing many tasks automatically, in way that disguises the true complexity of the network, Network Virtualization increases system administrator productivity and efficiency.

  • Centrally manage files, images, programs, and folders from a single physical site
  • Easily add or reassign storage media, such as hard drives and tape drives
  • Share or reallocate storage space among servers

Available resources in the network are combined by splitting up the available bandwidth into independent secured channels, each of which can be assigned (or reassigned) to a particular server or device in real time.

Desktop Virtualization

Let users remotely access their enterprise desktop environment using any device capable of displaying the desktop, including devices with entirely different hardware architecture or operating systems. Desktop Virtualization allows access for remote users by separating the applications, processes and data from the physical machine and storing their “virtualized” desktops on a central computer or server, instead of on the hard drives of their local computers.

  • Reduce hardware and support costs
  • Improve user information integrity and security
  • Secure your user desktops
  • Minimize software conflicts
  • Ensure business continuity
  • Reduce carbon footprint

Share and allocate resources to users on an as-needed basis, maintain and back up user data to a secure central location, and minimize software conflicts by reducing the total number of applications stored on any given machine.

Take the first step in your virtualization journey. Let CodeLab complete a capacity assessment to identify the potential impact of introducing a virtualization solution into your environment.
